The race begins at the base of Cerro Catedral. Runners will head north toward the area called El Tambo where the trail leads to Refugio San Martín mountain hut, on the shore of Laguna Jakob. From there, the ascent continues to Schweitzer Pass. As you run on stable rocky slopes, you will reach the highest point and then head downhill toward the valley of the Rio Casalata proceeding to the north end of Lago Mascardi. You continue through the Pampa Linda valley, crossing several rivers until La Pasarela (PAS). This will be the last aid station to get supplies before you face the last kilometers along the Rio Manso and sprint to the finish line at the Hostería Pampa Linda. A great portion of the course runs through valleys providing rivers and streams with fresh, clean water for you to drink. These trails are surrounded by forests that are regularly visited and are not technically difficult.
